For more than two hundred years the Buonamici family has lived in Fiesole, a place steeped in nature, beauty, culture and history. The Buonamici family's bond with their homeland, of which they are both its guardian and symbol, is the natural result of a passion for their land, which translates into constant dedication and commitment to olive growing and the production of extra virgin olive oil. Cesare Buonamici's many years of experience and technical background have enabled the Società Agricola Buonamici to achieve the status of a leading company in the sector to date. The Societa Agricola Buonamici is actively involved in the Fiesole area. It is a dynamic company that collaborates on various fronts with local authorities as well as in the area of research and experimentation with the University of Florence, the CNR-IBE and the Accademia dei Gergofili. Also within the PIF(Integrated supply chain project), thanks to the collaboration with the CNR-IBE, is the Fiesole Olive Biodiversity Park project. The project is designed for the purpose of discovering, protecting and promoting local olive biodiversity and will be unique throughout the territory. An immense garden of olive trees, within which it will be possible to appreciate multiple varieties and phenotypes unique to the Fiesole area, will soon be ready to welcome you.
The Organic District of Fiesole, first in Tuscany and strongly desired by the municipal administration, is also part of this context of territorial commitment to the protection and enhancement of the olive supply chain. The company has been organic since 1995, certified by ICEA (Institute for Environmental Ethics Certification) as well as at the European level (ISO22005 certification). The company has also been awarded eco-efficient by the Tuscany region for the energy savings achieved with the biomass thermal plant. The ecofriendly orientation has been applied both in the implementation of an entirely organic production and in the reduction of consumption of nonrenewable resources through the use of pruning waste (wood chips) and olive kernel, obtained directly from the pressing of olives, with a view to a full environmentally friendly circular economy. The society has a total area of 250 hectares and about 30,000 olive trees, cultivated according to the strict standards set by the European Union for organic cultivation (EEC Reg. 2092/91 and following).
The Societa Agricola Buonamici's olive trees belong to the prized cultivars of Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino, Pendolino, Maurino and Leccio del Corno, typical of the Fiesole area. These varieties live in harmony with each other and the oil obtained is of excellent quality, with prevalent herbaceous-vegetal olfactory and taste sensations with hints of fresh almond and artichoke. Leccio del Corno is particularly characterized by very herbaceous scents, making it one of the most sought-after cultivars and appreciated by oil connoisseurs to date.
